A law school buddy found this tee shirt at a yard sale last weekend and posted a pic of it on Facebook this morning. Not unexpectedly, it has generated more comments than I've seen in a long time. Obviously, this is a big "I want!" for Moogie.
And nonplus does mean what I thought it did! Dang -- I'm good. Irregardless. *snicker*

I have GOT to get me one of those!
ReplyDeleteAdd me to the list of wanters. Okay, I'll be the first to admit that sometimes in a rush, I make errors. And, sometimes I make them on purpose for various reasons.
ReplyDeleteBut, the constant wrongness of grammar usage nowadays convinces me that most folks never learned proper language in the start!
Nyuk...
And yes, "I could care less" drives me up the wall. Figuratively.
Stolen. In solidarity, of course.
ReplyDeleteJust today I heard my own lips say, "I cain't hardly do that..." Then I pictured your T-Shirt with my words on it.
ReplyDeleteLou, correct Southern is, "I can't barely do that."
ReplyDeleteJust sayin'...
Andy, when I say "can't" it sounds more like "cain't."
ReplyDeleteYou guys are all hysterical!
ReplyDeleteI see lots of fun colloquialisms out there. My sister -in-law is a "cain't" kinda gal, "barely" is a high-falutin' " hardly," and "get me" is a wonderful emphatic tool. Kinda like "Do you know what I went and did yesterday?". That one could always make my 7th grade English teacher cringe.
We should make our own tee shirt!
When I was in the army 50+ years ago, we said "I could care less" with loads of sarcasm. I still say I could care less with loads of sarcasm.
ReplyDeleteGud One~ Thanks for the laugh ;-)
